NOSTALGIA: Small Town Doctor Charges $5 for Office Visit
In Illinois, a small-town doctor – who’s been practicing medicine since 1955 – charges just five dollars for an office visit. He also doesn’t take insurance, saying it isn’t worth the bother.
Dr. Russell Dohner helps the people of Rushville, Illinois, in the order they sign in – first come, first served. No appointments.
And, his office has no fax machines or computers, as medical records are kept on hand-written index cards, stuffed into filing cabinets. (Yahoo News)
