Fundraising event on October 25th to benefit L.I.F.E House for animals, the Humane Society and Holly's Place, at Juniper Hills. A meal is included with your paid admission. There will also be LIVE music, a pet parade taking place at 12. There will also be a door prize drawing, silent auction cake walks, a play ground and a book sale. Your pets must remain on a leash at all times.

Fall Festival

Come on out to Morning Pointe and have some fun on Saturday, October 25th from 1-5pm! There will be corn hole, ring toss, a balloon bust, bowling and many more activities to take part in. Food will also be available and there's a costume contest for all ages!

Bark For Life

In partnership with the Scott County 4-H Dog Club, the Relay For Life of Scott County invites you to bring the kids & your 4 legged friends for an afternoon of fun to support the fight against cancer. Events will include: food vendors, entertainment, dog costume contest, dog games & demonstrations, kid’s activities, cancer survivor recognition ceremony, luminary and walk, and sky lantern release.  Online pre-registration before 10/25 is $15 ($10 per additional dog), on-site registration is $20 ($15 per addition dog), and the first 100 dogs will receive a purple bandana! Josephine Sculpture Park

Now until the end of October, you can purchase pumpkins and cushaws grown at the park to help support the park. Also there is a FREE art workshop for teen art students led by our Artist in Residence, Phyliis Free and on October 17th there is a concert featuring Heath & Molly starting at 6pm.

VFW Essay Competition

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4075 and the Ladies Auxiliary are sponsoring two contests for youth in the community. The first contest is "Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition" which is for grades 9-12. The second contest is the "Patriots Pen Youth Essay Writing Contest" which is for grades 6-8. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. The deadline to enter both contests is November 1st, 2014.

Team Kaylee Car Show

To help raise funds for Kaylee Willard who is fighting Ewing Sarcoma Bone Cancer. Trophies and plaques will be awarded. Trophies will include Kaylee's Favorite, Best of Show and People's Choice. There's also a Kid's Division for bikes, big wheels and tricycles. Trophy will be awarded for Best of Show and all kids that participate will receive a certificate. KBC Blood Drive

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and cancer patients frequently require blood transfusions to build up blood counts depleted by cancer therapies.
