VFW Essay Competition


The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4075 and the Ladies Auxiliary are sponsoring two contests for youth in the community. The first contest is "Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition" which is for grades 9-12. The second contest is the "Patriots Pen Youth Essay Writing Contest" which is for grades 6-8. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. The deadline to enter both contests is November 1st, 2014.

Spiritual Love Celebration


Come join us at the Walter Todd Community Center November 1st at 2:30pm, in a celebration of unity. Four generations of ladies from all walks of life come together to celebrate sisterhood through song, poetry, dance, laughter, tears and real life stories. Team Kaylee Car Show


To help raise funds for Kaylee Willard who is fighting Ewing Sarcoma Bone Cancer. Trophies and plaques will be awarded. Trophies will include Kaylee's Favorite, Best of Show and People's Choice. There's also a Kid's Division for bikes, big wheels and tricycles. Trophy will be awarded for Best of Show and all kids that participate will receive a certificate. Frankfort Kiwanis Club Annual Pancake Breakfast


Come join us November 1st at First Christian Church for a fantastic breakfast. If you purchase a $5 ticket, it gives you a chance for some fantastic prizes including 2 Lower level tickets to a UK Basketball Game! You can get your ticket at the door or from a member of the club.


 

Bow Wow Meow Auction


On November 8th, there will be a wonderful night of music, baskets and auction items to benefit Frankfort's only no-kill animal shelter, LIFE House for Animals. This event will be taking place at the Frankfort Country Club.
 

Kentucky Book Fair


            The 33rd annual Kentucky Book Fair takes place on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Kentucky, the Commonwealth’s Capital City. Each year more than 150 authors attend the Fair, prepared to sign their latest books and to meet the patrons.  The Kentucky Book Fair draws approximately 4.000 patrons from Kentucky and surrounding states.  In addition to the selling of books, the informal atmosphere encourages discussion and conversation among all of those in attendance.  Net proceeds from the Kentucky Book Fair fund grants to Kentucky school and public libraries for local book purchasing and other literacy-related causes, a total that now exceeds $368,000.
