(MIAMI, FLORIDA) Two of the more popular catch phrases these days are “You Only Live Once” [YOLO] and No Regrets”. However, Bonnie Ware says that most people have plenty of regrets once they realize the end is near. She interviewed hundreds of people in healthcare facilities, who were just a few weeks away from dying. Here are the common themes they regretted:

  1. Courage to live an authentic life -- not one others expected
  2. Work too hard, and too many long hours
  3. Express my feelings more honestly
  4. Stayed in touch with friends
  5. Allowed myself be happy

LEFTOVERS: Americans Allow 40% of Their Food to Spoil

(WASHINGTON, DC) More than ever before, Americans waste food. About 40% of all the meals produced in the United States goes directly into the garbage. The typical household wastes over $2000 each year on food that eventually spoils. The most common reason is eager that we’re overly optimistic when shopping for vegetables. We stand in the produce aisle, convinced that we'll start (again) to eat healthy. But once we get home, we reach for the quick & easy foods rather than the healthy veggies

The people at Zip-Loc say that leftovers make up about 12% of the contents of refrigerator. In recent years, our taste has faded for leftovers. A story in the New York Times featured several Americans talking about their disgust for leftovers in the refrigerator. 26-year-old Sacha Witt told the paper (quote) "I'd rather eat a spoonful of peanut butter than eat leftovers."
