Miley Cyrus is on the mend! More than a week after being hospitalized because of a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics, the pop star is back on her feet. A source confirms to Us Weekly that the 21-year-old has left the hospital and is now preparing to return to the road for the European leg of her Bangerz tour. "She's doing much better," the insider tells Us. "She had to get it all out of her system. It hit her hard." As previously reported, Cyrus was hospitalized on April 15 after suffering an "extreme" reaction to the antibiotic Cephalexin, which had been prescribed to her for a sinus infection.
During an appearance on Ellen Thursday,Adam Levine stopped just short of confirming that Gwen Stefani is stepping in for Christina Aguilera on The Voice next season. After describing the reports as "speculative," he admitted, "That's what I'm supposed to say legally." However, Levine indicated that Pharrell Williams, who NBC has confirmed will join the show, and Stefani are indeed both joining him on the set. "I'm such a big fan of both of them," he gushed. "They are both incredible and it's gonna be a blast."
You may have thought Pharrell Williams’ hat was weird, but his newest project may top it. On Thursday, Williams released a book called Inspiration online, but there’s a catch: It’s missing all the words. The idea behind the “social book” is that fans can guess the absent words, and the first person to correctly guess any missing word will be credited when it is published. The book will be published and sold when all the words have been filled in, with all revenues going to From One Hand to Another. The nonprofit, founded by Williams, seeks to help at-risk youths in American communities. The first four pages of Inspiration were unlocked Thursday.
Lollapalooza may still be a few months away, but festival organizers revealed on Thursday that this year’s livestream will be available at Redbull.tv, as well as on Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox 360, Amazon TV, iOS, and Android. In addition to showing live performances from all five stages, the webcast will feature artist interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from acts including OutKast, Lorde and The Avett Brothers, among others.
It appears that the next Guns N’ Roses album will come out a lot sooner than the 15 year span it took for their last release, Chinese Democracy. Guitarist Richard Fortus told the Associated Press this week that the group was "working on stuff” and that they hope to have it out soon. The band, which recently wrapped a handful of shows in South America, will begin a Las Vegas residency in May. "We're going to be in Vegas all together, so hopefully during that time we're going to be able to get into the room and start laying down some more stuff," Fortus said.
It seems like Seth Meyers just took the helm as new host of Late Night, but he’s already been offered another hosting gig. It was announced Thursday that Meyers will host this summer’s Primetime Emmy Awards, airing on NBC at 8 p.m. on August 25. “Seth's expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at SNL, as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera on SNL and Late Night, makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys,” said Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment President of Late Night and Alternative Programming.
