Katy Perry got caught in a sticky situation at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes this weekend. At the beginning of her performance of "Roar," a vocal track started playing way too early, catching Perry off guard and out of sync with the song's timing. Things got even more awkward when a man appeared on stage during the performance and interrupted a visibly annoyed Perry, saying, "If you don't mind, we can restart. We had a little problem." The problem in question, of course, is that Perry's pre-recorded vocal track started without her. When Perry restarted the performance, she appeared to be singing live (albeit, pretty badly) without the backing track.
Justin Timberlake stepped out of the spotlight as his Louisville concert this weekend to let a fan come on stage and propose to his girlfriend. Timberlake brought the man, Josh, and his girlfriend Kim onto the stage and said to Kim, "Josh called me earlier. He's got something he wants to tell you." The audience cheered as Josh got down on one knee and popped the question, while Timberlake smiled and clapped from the side of the stage. Kim accepted, and the couple shared a kiss while still on stage. Timberlake later tweeted a video of the special moment, writing, "And then this happened in Louisville..."
After only three days, Beyonce's stealth self-titled album broke the U.S. iTunes Store's record for the largest sales week for an album ever, selling 617,000 downloads by the end of Sunday. Likely helping the album's sales is the fact that none of its tracks are available a la carte; the 14-song set is being sold for $15.99 and comes with 18 videos. The previous one-week iTunes sales record was set by Taylor Swift's Red, which sold 465,000 copies in October 2012.
