Beyonce shocked her fans last night by unexpectedly releasing her entire new self-titled on iTunes without any advance notice. The diva posted a video to her Instagram last night, a montage of images that included the word "Surprise!" flashing on the screen and referred to the record as a "visual album." The album is a 14-song collection that includes collaborations with her husband Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, and, on a track called "Blue," her baby daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Every song is also accompanied by a video. "Grown Woman," the promotional track that Beyonce has been performing on her world tour, appears as a video but is not on the album's track list.
Brimfield Police Chief David Oliver of Ohio has penned a hilarious open letter to Kanye West, blasting him for comparing his plight as a rap superstar to that of cops and soldiers. Posted on his department's Facebook page, it reads: "Since you are accustomed to danger, I am strongly encouraging you to immediately abandon you career as a super star and join the military... When the Taliban starts shooting at you, perhaps you could stand up and let the words flow. I’m sure they would just drop weapons and surrender. You could quite possibly end all wars, just from the enemy being star-struck." The police chief also warns Kanye, "Check yourself, before you wreck yourself."
Lady Gaga and Celine Dion are slated to perform on the fifth season finale of The Voice on December 17. Gaga will perform her R. Kelly duet "Do What U Want," and Dion will be joined by Ne-Yo to sing their duet "Incredible," off the diva's latest album Loved Me Back to Life. OneRepublic will also perform their song "I Lived." The band's frontman Ryan Tedder is Voice family now, having signed on as the show's in-house producer and songwriter. Tedder penned a song that will be performed by this season's champion.
