Kanye West -- shocker -- lost his cool during an interview with Sway Calloway on Sirius XM's Shade 45 yesterday. West flipped his lid when Calloway suggested he avoid ventures into the fashion industry and instead release his ideas himself. The rapper screamed, "How, Sway? You ain't got the answers, man!" The two then engaged in a shouting match in which West yelled, "I been doing this more than you!" and mocked Calloway's own venture into fashion -- "What's the name of your clothing line? We don't know." After Calloway chastises him, West eventually calms down a little and then launches into a confusing rant tying fashion into the French Revolution, Harriet Tubman and the history of slavery.
Lorde is becoming known for her incisive interviews just as much as she is for her hit songs. The 17-year-old, who has previously criticized Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, recently told Interview magazine, "Around the middle of last year I started listening to a lot of rap, like Nicki Minaj and Drake, as well as pop singers like Lana Del Rey. They all sing about such opulence, stuff that just didn't relate to me -- or anyone that I knew." She then adds, "I began thinking, 'How are we listening to this? It's completely irrelevant.'" To be fair, she clearly means the subject matter doesn't relate to her own life, but we're sure the gossip rags will make a hubbub over the "diss" anyway.
