Video has gone viral of Kanye West ranting about Bruno Mars during his Brooklyn concert Wednesday night. Talking about the MTV Video Music Awards, the 36-year-old rapper complains, "Bruno Mars won all the motherf**king awards and s**t.... What I care about is if you’re an artist and you work hard as f**k and the streets say that you deserve that s**t. Can’t no motherf**king networks try to gas everybody up so they can sell some product with the prettiest motherf**ker out." He also barks, "I still ain't see a video better than Beyoncé video 'till this motherf**king day." Sigh. C'mon Kanye -- give it a rest already.
Former 'NSYNC member Lance Bass announced that he's releasing a solo single, so Justin Timberlake better watch out! (Not really though). Bass, who was best known in 'NSYNC for not really singing many notable parts, shared his big news on his Sirius XM radio show yesterday. He says the single will be called "Walking on Air" (could it be a cover of the recent Katy Perry song of that same name?) and will be out in January, although he's “sure it will leak before then.”
Dave Matthews tells Rolling Stone that he and his band are working on a new album, the follow-up to 2012's Away From the World. Matthews says, "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past." Other than that, he doesn't give many details, except to say that some of the new songs are ones that they've been playing in concert for a long time. "Whenever I start messing around in the studio, I start writing, so hopefully we can come up with something worth listening to," he adds.
This week's biggest new release is also one of the most anticipated films of the year -- the second installment in The Hunger Games series, Catching Fire, starring Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. For something a little lighter, Delivery Man is a comedy starring Vince Vaughn, about a man who discovers he's fathered 533 children through sperm donations. Dame Judi Dence stars in Philomena as a woman trying to find the son she gave up for adoption years ago. The documentary Bettie Page Reveals All takes an inside look at the iconic 1950s pinup model.
