HBO's immortal vampires now have an ending date. True Blood's 10-episode, seventh season in summer 2014 will be its last, the pay-cable network announced today. The popular drama, which stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard, ended its sixth season last month. True Blood follows Paquin's Sookie, a part-fairy who can hear people's thoughts, and her encounters with vampires and other supernatural characters. In Season 6, the show averaged 10.6 million viewers. It has been one of HBO's most popular series.
Miley Cyrus has no regrets about her VMA performance. She tells MTV News that she doesn't pay attention to the negative because she's seen this story play out before. "Madonna's done it. Britney's done it," she said. “Every VMA performance, that’s what you’re looking for; you’re wanting to make history.” Cyrus says she and Robin Thicke even said to one another before their performance, "You know, we're about to make history right now." Still, Cyrus admits she's surprised that people are still talking about it. "You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it," she said.
Prince has released his sexy new single "Breakfast Can Wait." Prince teased the song when he released artwork featuring comedian Dave Chappelle dressed up as the Purple One. But the song is no joke, with Prince smooth-talking his lover into another go-round now that they've both awake. "Breakfast Can Wait" is the first single off Prince's upcoming album Plectrum Electrum.
