The petition needs 100,000 signatures by August 1st to be considered by the White House. One fan blogged: 'Obama please make Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the USA' our national anthem. It is what is best for this country.' The Latinos Post says only 322 people have signed the petition.
Mariah Carey was in the hospital late Sunday in New York after dislocating her shoulder during a video shoot. Mariah, 43, was filming a video for a remix version of her song "#Beautiful" with rapper Young Jeezy. An on-set source says that, while dancing and singing in towering high heels, Mariah toppled over and hurt herself. Meanwhile, her husband Nick Cannon, who was directing the video, reportedly stayed by her side as a doctor attended to her. Mariah's rep said on Monday that the diva's shoulder has been reset and that she is now doing fine.
Just six months away from handing over the power of The Tonight Show to Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno is still the ratings king of late night TV. New Nielsen ratings for the second quarter of 2013 show that Leno is still dominating his competition. Leno's Tonight Show attracted an average of 3.57 million viewers per night, beating out Dave Letterman's Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live by approximately 750,000. In fact, Leno's ratings are up eight percent over last year, while Letterman's are down 13 percent.
