Amy Adams proved she's a class act on Friday when she decided to give her first-class seat to an American soldier and fly coach instead. ABC News reports that Adams privately asked to switch seats with a serviceman prior to taking off on her flight from Detroit to Los Angeles. Fellow passenger and ESPN personality Jemele Hill saw the actress make the switch and tweeted about the act. "I noticed Ms. Adams was in first class, and as I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams' seat," Hill explained. Upon exiting the plane, Adams met briefly with the soldier and told reporters, “I didn’t do it for attention to myself. I did it for attention for the troops.”
When Miley Cyrus' beloved dog, Floyd, died awhile back, she spent what seemed like months publicly mourning his death. But she's totes over Floyd now! To wit, she shared a photo of her new pup, Emoy Coyne Cyrus, on Instagram over the weekend. "Never will I replace Floyd, and that's something I had to take time to understand," she wrote. "We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floyd give Emu his blessing.” And about dog's moniker: Coyne is the surname of Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, with whom Miley recently collaborated.
Shia LaBeouf was arrested midway through a live Broadway performance of Cabaret late last week for, among other things, slapping lead actor Alan Cumming in the rear and shouting "Do you know who the f**k I am?" to security. Cleverly, a publicist for Liza Minelli, who starred in the 1972 film version of the musical, sent the troubled actor a DVD copy of the production after his legal misstep. “I figured he may want to find out how it ends,” quipped Scott Gorenstein.
Spike Lee's iconic film Do the Right Thing came out 25 years ago today. Racially provocative and raw, it's not most couples' idea of a great date movie. But Barack and Michelle Obama aren't most couples. On Friday night, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosted a screening and Q&A with Lee, Public Enemy rapper Chuck D (who wrote the film's theme, "Fight the Power") and actors from the film. But before the film started, a taped message from the Obamas aired, in which the First Couple revealed that they saw Do the Right Thing on their first date. "Spike, thank you for helping me impress Michelle, and thank you for telling a powerful story," the President remarked.

Justin Bieber was involved in a car accident in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, TMZ reports. Bieber was a passenger in a black Escalade when it ran into a BMW after speeding up to avoid being chased by a paparazzo. The BMW, which was pulling out of a parking structure, reportedly misjudged the speed of the Escalade and smashed into it. No one was injured in the accident, and TMZ adds that Bieber immediately exited the SUV and got into another car that left the scene.
Tammy star Melissa McCarthy made an appearance on last night's episode of The Late Show. David Letterman questioned McCarthy's ability to work on her hit TV show Mike & Molly, make movies and have time for her daughters. Her response? "I just don't sleep." She then revealed that her husband Ben Falcone and their two kids travel together like a tribe of carnies when filming movies. Later, McCarthy confessed her minimal knowledge of the Hungarian language while living in Budapest. "They were speaking in Hungarian, so I would just stand next to someone who was really talking a lot, and at the end I would just say 'pontosan,' which means 'exactly'," said McCarthy.
In addition to being the Piano Man, Billy Joel helped an elderly woman on Monday. Page Six reports that Joel was cruising on his motorcycle in East Hampton Village when he spotted a 65-year-old woman who had fallen in a crosswalk. Joel proceeded to lend a hand to first responders and carried the woman’s belongings to the side of the road. He then chatted with the woman as she gathered herself on a nearby bench.
Fox 411 claims Jenny McCarthy may get booted from The View. A source tells the network: “Jenny just didn’t appeal to the daytime audience market. They couldn’t relate to her. There are a lot of changes taking place now that Barbara [Walters] has left.” ABC says: “Now that Barbara has retired, ABC has more autonomy to hire who they want for the show,” added our source. “But no matter what, Barbara will not let this show fail. Trade Technical College three times in the last six weeks, where he has been speaking to students about his experience in the fashion industry. Monday’s lesson reportedly lasted three hours and found West talking about various designers. The rapper, who cut a plea deal in March in connection to his attack on a paparazzo, is currently on a 24-month informal probation and owes 250 hours of community service.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are going to have another newborn to protect from the paparazzi, as Entertainment Tonight confirmed yesterday that the actors are expecting their second child. A spokesperson for the couple told the outlet, "I can confirm that Kristen and Dax are expecting their second child and a sibling for Lincoln. The whole family is beyond excited." The parents to 1-year-old Lincoln Bell Shepard started a campaign earlier this year to protect the children of celebrities from being photographed.
FOX is bringing back the entire American Idol judging panel for Season 14, Entertainment Weekly reports. Although the show hit record-low ratings this year, Idol announced on Monday that they will continue in 2015 with judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr, along with host Ryan Seacrest. “Jennifer, Keith, Harry and Ryan are the very best in the business at what they do, and I’m thrilled that they are returning to American Idol for another season,” said David Hill, senior executive vice president for 21st Century Fox. This marks the first time since Season 11 that the judges have remained the same for consecutive years.
On last night's episode of The Late Show With David Letterman, Adam Levine somewhat gave up the meaning of his band name "Maroon 5." He admitted that "the origin of the name is so bad, such a horrendous story, that we decided that shrouding it in mystery will make it a better story than the actual story." Levine then added that he has told the confidential story to one person, Billy Joel, who seemed to be unimpressed by the origin of the band's name.
Bindi Irwin is tired off seeing young girls trying to dress older than they are. In a new interview with News Corp Australia, the 15-year-old daughter of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin said she is “a big advocate for young girls dressing their age” and argues that trying to dress older actually makes girls look like they are “trying too hard.” Explaining that she feels bad for girls who wear revealing clothes or hardly any clothes at all, Irwin says that her mother Terri has been a major influence on her personal style choices. "A pair of jeans and a T-shirt is just as gorgeous and even makes you look classier," Irwin adds.
After 10 years and a "swear count" of 10,197 expletives, Gordon Ramsay announced yesterday that he's pulling the plug on his Trans-Atlantic Kitchen Nightmares TV phenomenon. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West celebrated North West's first birthday over the weeked by throwing a kid's version of Coachella that they dubbed "Kidchella." (Yes, seriously). The belated bash (North's actual birthday fell on June 15), featured a ferris wheel, multiple music stages and rich people trying way too hard to dress like hippies. Kylie Jenner and Jade Smith also lip-synced to Kanye and Rihanna songs onstage. Of course, the entire Kardashian family made sure to post several photos documenting North's party on Instagram. Oddly enough, North herself is not in any of them.
Jeremy Meeks, the blue-eyed babe whose sexy mugshot went viral after being posted to a California police department's Facebook page, has broken his silence to address his sudden popularity. The 30-year-old spoke to ABC News 10 from behind a glass wall, where he wore a orange jumpsuit, smiled and shook his head. "I appreciate (the attention), but I just want them to know that this really is not me," he explained. "I'm not some kingpin." Meeks said that his wife (sorry, ladies) informed him of his newfound fame when she visited him in jail. However, the convicted felon, who has already served a nine-year term, insists he is innocent this time. He is charged with illegally possessing firearms and ammo, carrying a loaded firearm in public and criminal street gang activity.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went on a dinner-movie date on Friday. The on-again, off-again couple was photographed leaving Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills and looking cozy at the theater. They were also accompanied by security guards (how romantic). A source tells E! News that Gomez's friends and family urged her to stay away from The Biebs, but that she decided to give him another chance because she doesn't want to be single this summer. Sigh.
Is Kesha in love? The "Timber" singer sounded smitten when she opened up about boyfriend Brad Ashenfelter during an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest Friday. "He's really, a really sweet human being," she gushed. "I’m very happy to have him in my life... I’m really happy with my beard." The 27-year-old pop star, who met Ashenfelter through her stylist, also dished that he's just her type. "I just like them to be beardy [with] long hair and look like a little homeless," she explained. "I like guys who look like they don’t groom themselves. I'm not into guys who are very high-maintenance. I don’t want them to take longer to get ready than me."
Pearl Jam chose an unexpected song to play at a recent gig, when they covered “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen. NME reports that the rock act performed 40 seconds of the song during an extended riff on their song “Daughter” at their show in Milan, Italy, on Friday, June 20. So, basically, Eddie Vedder is the coolest dad ever.
Tracy Morgan, who was seriously injured in a highway collision on June 7, has been transferred from the hospital to a rehabilitation center where he is expected to stay for a few weeks. "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go," his publicist said in a statement. Morgan suffered a broken nose, femur, leg, and several ribs when a Walmart truck slammed into his limo bus on the New Jersey Turnpike. In a criminal complaint, police said the truck driver had been awake for more than 24 hours when the accident took place.
Kelly Clarkson introduced her week-old daughter to the world on Friday by sharing the first photo of her little angel on social media. The photo, which features River Rose napping in a red carriage, was captioned: “Here is our beautiful baby girl River Rose; 6 lbs., 6 oz., 18 inches, and the greatest thing on the planet.” River is Clarkson’s first child with her husband Brandon Blackstock, whom she wed last October.
Katy Perry is a big fan of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and offered to write Clinton’s campaign theme song when she met her on Saturday, Billboard reports. Perry, who chatted with the Secretary during a stop on her Hard Choices book tour, posted a picture of the two on Twitter and Instagram with the caption, “I told hillaryclinton that I would write here a “theme” song if she needs it…” Clinton responded by saying “Well that’s not a Hard Choice. You already did! Keep letting us hear you Roar.” Talk about a dynamic duo!
Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams gave fans a glimpse at their roles as coaches on the upcoming season of The Voice in a new promo clip posted over the weekend. The clip, which also features returners Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, shows the coaches wearing black and dancing to Stefani’s 2004 hit single “Hollaback Girl” on a red and white set. While Levine and Shelton are their usual silly selves, Stefani appears to add some sass. And Williams keeps it cool wearing an Adidas jacket and a smirk.

A tell-all piece written by someone who was in the audience during Honey Boo Boo's Tonight Show appearance last week reveals that the reality-show starlet isn't so much sassy in real life as she is just plain mean. In portions of Jimmy Fallon's interview that were left on the cutting-room floor, Honey Boo Boo grew increasingly hostile in response to Fallon's repeated requests for a friendship bracelet, which culminated in her hitting her mother, who was seated next to her. Fallon apparently was none too amused, shouting in a serious tone, "NEVER hit your mother!" The studio audience reportedly erupted into applause at Fallon's admonishment.
When Lady Gaga decided to shelve her video for "Do What U Want" with R. Kelly in January, the pop diva blamed her decision on "those who have betrayed me." But the real reason may have been that it was just too controversial. In the clip, Gaga plays a patient with a hip injury who asks Kelly, her doctor, "Will I ever be able to walk again?" Kelly reportedly replies, "Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body," then adds, "I'm putting you under, and when you wake up, you're going to be pregnant." As if that's not distasteful enough, the video was directed by pervy photographer Terry Richardson. Sounds like Gaga dodged a bullet.
In a new interview with MTV News, Adam Levine reveals that Maroon 5’s upcoming album V (pronounced “five”) is “all over the place.” Noting that the album’s title is both a nod to the band’s name and the fact it is there fifth release, Levine adds: “We thought we’d get back to certain elements that we’d been missing out on for a while with our original sound, but also bridge the gap with the new stuff that we’ve been doing.” The Voice coach also talks about the band’s collaboration with Gwen Stefani, which he says is “being mixed right now.”

Uh-oh: Selena Gomez threw a huge party on Tuesday night, where things got so loud and out of control that neighbors called the cops. "We responded to a call at Selena Gomez's residence around 10:30 p.m. last night regarding one loud music complaint," a spokesperson for the Lost Hills Police Department tells Us Weekly. "The people contacted were cooperative and turned the music down." The 21-year-old singer-actress seems unfazed by the incident. She posted a photo of her get-together on Instagram, along with the caption, "Tacos, live music and candles. Such a beautiful night with beautiful people."
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield turned a photo opportunity into something more meaningful on Tuesday morning by holding notecards listing some organizations they support. We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought…We don't need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do." Garfield’s notecard listed the websites for a number of charitable organizations.
Rhode Island police arrested three people outside Taylor Swift's beachfront home Sunday for accosting security guards, shouting expletives and throwing beer bottles. Kanye West has revealed that he and Kim Kardashian spent their honeymoon photoshopping their wedding kiss picture so that they could have the perfect debut on Instagram. (How romantic.) "I'll tell you a little story about the kiss photo that my girl put up," Kanye said while appearing at the Cannes Lions' International Festival of Creativity. "We sat there and worked on that photo for four days. Because the flowers were off-color and stuff like that." Sadly, the public has continued to feed Kanye's delusions of grandeur: "The Kiss" photo has become the most liked photo ever on Instagram.
On last night's episode of The Tonight Show, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Fallon confronted their fear of roller coasters by riding in the front seat of Universal Studios' Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. As they approached the ride, Hart complained, "Now I can't turn back 'cause now I'll look like a b**ch if I turn back." Making the situation even worse, a park employee checked the comedian's height to make sure he was tall enough to get on the ride. "I'm a grown man!" Hart declared in response.

Claws out! After Selena Gomez won Favorite International Artist at the MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night, Miley Cyrus tweeted a thinly-veiled accusation that the results were rigged. "Wigged woting wis wack wust wayin," she tweeted. (Presumably, that translates to "Rigged voting is wack just sayin.") Before the show, Miley had actively encouraged fans on Twitter to vote for her in the fan-voted category. This isn't the first time she's lashed out at Gomez. Just last week, the 21-year-old pop star performed her angry anthem "FU" to a cardboard cutout of Selena Gomez in concert.
The L.A. City Attorney has rejected the case against Justin Bieber that accuses the pop star of snatching a woman’s cell phone in San Fernando Valley batting cage. TMZ reports that the City Attorney dropped the case, which was previously dismissed by the L.A. County D.A., because all nine witnesses said the woman made up the alleged robbery. That doesn't mean that The Biebs is off the hook just yet -- the 20-year-old is still awaiting charges for an unrelated egging incident.
Adam Levine opened up about how he proposed to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo during an On Air With Ryan Seacrest interview Monday morning. The 35-year-old Maroon 5 frontman and Voice coach revealed that he asked the 24-year-old father for her hand in marriage before popping the question. "I did ask his permission," he shared. "Yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-wracking." (Probably because most dads don't want their daughter marrying a notorious womanizer.) The couple is expected to wed in Los Cabos, Mexico next month.

"His personality is certainly starting to come back as well," his publicist Lewis Kay said in a statement. Is this what Gwyneth Paltrow meant by "conscious uncoupling?" The pretentious actress' estranged husband Chris Martin was spotted out with Rihanna over the weekend. Murder in The First 10pm on TNTCable doesn't need another murder investigation, but if network execs insist on assigning detectives to track dangerous sociopaths, they should bring this level of pedigree: Murder was created by cop-show legend Steven Bochco, produced by West Wing veteran Thomas Schlamme, and it stars Taye Diggs and Harry Potter's Tom Felton. With a season-long focus on a single case, the story has plenty of breathing room, and the San Francisco setting feels particularly natural. As unnecessary things go, Murder is exquisite.

Justin Bieber has apologized for his use of the n-word and a KKK reference in a second racist video leaked from his prepubescent career nascency. “Facing my mistakes from years ago has been one of the hardest things I've ever dealt with,” he said in a statement. “But I feel now that I need to take responsibility for those mistakes and not let them linger. At the end of the day, I just need to step up and own what I did. Once again, I am sorry for all those I have let down and offended. I just hope that the next 14-year-old kid who doesn't understand the power of these words does not make the same mistakes I made." Bieber said both Usher and Will Smith have taken him to task for his insensitive remarks.

"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," the “Royals” singer explains. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe." The New Zealand native also talks about the negative side of being a female in the music industry, noting that she refuses to be talked down to or patronized.

Justin Bieber was the victim of a million-dollar shakedown by a guy who was in possession of the recently leaked video of the pop star at age 15 telling a racist joke, TMZ reports. About two months ago, Bieber's reps were contacted by a lawyer representing the video's owner, who once worked on a Bieber video project. The lawyer said his client would sell the video to the media unless Bieber ponied up $1 million. When Bieber's people scoffed at that price, the lawyer dropped it to $800,000 and then $500,000, but Bieber's reps still wouldn't budge. What's worse, TMZ has unearthed a second video of a 14-year-old Bieber singing about "one less lonely ni**er" and being "part of the KKK."

They just want the baby to be healthy." Kourtney and Disick were recently spotted on a double date with Khloe Kardashian and French Montana during which Kourtney abstained from alcohol, apparently for the most obvious reason of them all.

The Fast & Furious franchise just named their newest star! Paul Walker's look-a-like younger brother Cody, 25, caught the eyes of producers while he was filling in for crucial scenes during filming of Fast & Furious 7. Following Paul’s death, Cody was used to shoot unfinished scenes that featured Paul’s character Brian O’Conner. But now, he’s getting his own role in all of the flicks to come! Sources say Paul’s character Brian will be seen retiring while his younger brother joins the crew in his place. That way, both the O’Conner name AND the Walker name live on in the films! Producers explained that Cody is in no way just a replacement for Paul though. He has his own talents to offer onscreen! An insider spilled: "Of course, Cody isn’t a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody so likable and charming. It would be a tribute to Paul that Cody carries on the Walker name in the Fast and The Furious movies.”

Just Jared reports that the release date for Tatum and Mila Kunis’ new film Jupiter Ascending has been moved to February 6, 2015. Originally expected to hit theaters on July 18, the film is being delayed because more time is needed for special effects. “We’ve been trying like hell to get this finished,” said Dan Fellman, Warner Brother’s president of domestic distribution in a statement. “But there are over 2,000 visual effects shots in the movie, and it’s just not gonna happen in time.”

Justin Bieber has apologized after video emerged of him telling what many have deemed a racist joke. The clip, which was published by British tabloid The Sun over the weekend, shows a then 15-year-old Bieber asking, "Why are black people afraid of chainsaws?", after which he repeatedly says, "Run, n**ger," as if he is revving an engine. In a statement Sunday to The Associated Press, the 20-year-old pop star says, "I'm very sorry. I take all my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologize for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable behavior." He adds, "I thought it was ok to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but I didn't realize at the time that it wasn't funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance."
Ray J, a singer better known for his sex tape with Kim Kardashian than his music career, was arrested at a Beverly Hills hotel on Friday night. Police were called to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel after Ray J allegedly grabbed a woman's butt. Cops determined it was an accident, but Ray J reportedly got so heated following questioning that he kicked in the side window of a police car and spit on one of the officers. He was then charged with vandalism, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer. Bravo, Kim -- looks like you dodged a bullet.
