Katy Perry gushes about her boyfriend John Mayer (yet again) in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. The pop star, 29, says that she and the singer-songwriter, 36, took it slow and wrote letters to each other before they began dating. She says that their blossoming relationship inspired the song "Legendary Lovers" on her new album Prism. "I actually wrote it in an email one time, and after I wrote it I looked... and seeing 'legendary lovers,' it sounded so nice," she reveals. The track features lyrics like, "Never knew karma could be so rewarding and bring me to your life/ Maybe this is the beginning of something so magical tonight." Don't break her heart, John!

Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee, starting with next week's new episode on November 7. Glambert will be playing a character named Elliott Starchild who auditions for Kurt's band.

Baby mama drama! Pauly D is now a father, and is excited about it. But the mother of his daughter doesn't want him around! Amabella is already 5 months old and her mom does NOT want him to visit their daughter…. specifically if he's going to be unsupervised. This news was prompted after Pauly's lawyer sent a letter to Amanda Markert's attorney, asking for 2 weeks of visitation. Amanda's attorney shot it down, saying he can't see the baby unsupervised for that period of time.  Here's what his rep said: "Paul and his entire family are eager to meet and spend time with Paul’s daughter. Paul has been requesting visitation for quite some time now, but his requests have either gone unresponded to or denied. He and his family are committed to being a significant part of his daughter’s life and are excited to make that a reality. "

Britney Spears' music is being used to scare off Somali pirates. Merchant Navy Officer Rachel Owens tells Metro UK that 'Oops! I Did It Again' and 'Baby One More Time' are the most effective tracks. File this one under slightly creepy -- In a recent interview, Katy Perry confessed to asking for some very personal keepsakes from a couple of her fellow pop stars. ''One of the first times I went to the Grammys, I got to share a dressing room with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift," she recalls. "And I asked for a lock of their hair from each one of them, which is totally creepy, but awesome.'' Perry says she put little bows around each lock and kept them in her purse. She says, "That was my little secret. I'm a freak!'' Wonder if John Mayer's ever stumbled across that lock of Taylor Swift's hair...

Showbiz Spy and the National Enquirer claim Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf recently scrapped on the set of their new WWII movie. A source tells the sites, ''Shia became a bit too intrigued by the machine guns in the tank’s turrets and started firing the guns wildly between scenes. The guns were loaded with blanks, not real bullets, but Brad was NOT happy with Shia goofing around. He tapped him on the shoulder, meaning to caution him, but Shia whipped the gun turret around and hit Brad smack in the face with the hot barrel! Brad, livid, yelled, ‘Quit f****** around!’ Everyone froze, but Shia started laughing — and Brad just snapped! He lunged – and crew members literally had to pull him off the jerk. Shia yelled, ‘Hey, man, what’s your problem?’ Bellowed Brad, ‘I have 5-year-olds more mature than you!’ Later, they both returned, and Shia – looking very sheepish – turned to Brad and asked: ‘Are we good?’ They shook hands and we’re happy to report there’ve been no further altercations!”

Britney Spears has chimed in on the recent Fifty Shades of Grey shakeup by suggesting James Franco to take on the role of Christian Grey. "I love James Franco," Britney gushed in an interview with London's KISS FM. "I think he's really cool." Britney also revealed that she recently had a dream about Ryan Gosling. However, she was quick to add that it wasn't a sex dream. "We were just talking, having a conversation," she said with a giggle. "I wish it was like that!"

Are the Jonas Brothers done for good? After backing out of their tour last week due to a "deep rift," the boys have -- gasp! -- deleted their band Twitter account. But their fans needn't worry: the individual accounts of Kevin, 25, Joe, 24, and Nick, 21, are still active. Meanwhile, a music industry source tells People, "It's uglier than you think. They don't even talk these days." When asked about the JoBros' future, band spokesman Jesse Derris gave the ominous response, "It remains to be seen."

The blonde reality star has been very open about the couple's desire to add to their brood and told several media outlets this summer that they were "trying." Guess all that "trying" worked.

A spokeswoman has responded negatively to Kanye West's appeal on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week that his girlfriend Kim Kardashian should receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ana Martinez released a statement to Yahoo, stating, "We don't have reality stars on the Walk of Fame. We don't have a category for it. We're happy to consider reality stars once they get nominated for, or win, an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar. We'll consider them when they're legitimate actors or singers." We're expecting a heated response from West at any moment now.

In Touch magazine has obtained Beyonce's list of dressing room demands for a recent video shoot -- and it's no wonder that they call her "Queen Bey." The 32-year-old insists that her space be decorated with only white furniture and grapefruit-scented candles, as well as that it be kept at "exactly 72 degrees." In addition, her food has to "be served on a crisp white tablecloth." Photographs are prohibited. To be fair though, Beyonce does have one very reasonable request on her list: She asks that the room be baby-proofed for her daugher Blue Ivy. Thank goodness Blue can't speak yet and reveal her preferences, as well.

Britney Spears' focus is definitely on her career right now, with the upcoming release of her new album Britney Jean and her two-year Las Vegas residency. But the pop star says she hopes to slow things down in the future and maybe even expand her family. During an interview in London yesterday, she said, "I'd like to have more kids, settle down... have kids -- maybe twins -- and get married." Spears says that a quieter lifestyle wouldn't be that big of a change for her: "I really don't go clubbing, I don't do that. I like to stay at home, I like watching movies and eating lots of popcorn."

Drake has reportedly fired rapper Future from his opening spot on his upcoming tour after Future dissed Drake's new album in an interview with Billboard. Future's controversial quote was, "Drake made an album that is full of hits, but it doesn't grab you. They're not possessive; they don't make you feel the way I do." His comment infuriated Drake so much that he fired Future from the tour. Then, when considering taking Future back on, Drake asked the rapper to take a pay cut. Future declined and is now reportedly planning to sue Drake for lost wages, which amount to around $1.5 million.

Talk about a match made in reality TV heaven (or hell). Snooki wants to set up her son, 13-month-old Lorenzo, with Kim Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby girl, North West. "I would love to do a playdate," the Jersey Shore star says. "They probably have high standards, though. They probably want her to date a prince or something." However, the proud mom adds, "Lorenzo is a prince -- of New Jersey."

Video has emerged of Selena Gomez taking a tumble off the stage last week during her Fairfax, Virginia concert. But the what's getting the most attention isn't the fall itself, but the fact that Selena's singing didn't seem to miss a beat during it. On YouTube, commenters criticized the 21-year-old pop star for lip-syncing, with one YouTube user writing that the audible shriek Gomez let out after her spill was "the only real sound that came out of her mouth." She falls at 3:27 in the video above.

Ke$ha and Pitbull are back on the charts with their new collaboration, "Timber," but the duo has abruptly canceled their upcoming Australian tour just two weeks before it was supposed to start. No real explanation was given for the cancellation. Pitbull posted the news on his Facebook page, and Ke$ha tweeted, "im so so bummed that our aussie tour was cancelled!! aussie animals, i love you very much and im working out how to come see you again asap!" Insiders are speculating that the tour was called off due to low ticket sales -- not that a celebrity would ever admit something like that.

Sinead O'Connor has written another letter to Miley Cyrus. It reads: "What you did is extraordinarily dangerous as it contributes to the silences which allow suicide to flourish and also contributes to the bullying of people perceived mistakenly or otherwise to be mentally ill. That bullying causes suicides. Thats why you're supposed to apologize. Its really very simple. People die every day because of the type of thing you did," she added. "Its not that hard to say sorry. Doing so will save lives."

The circus that is Justin Bieber's life never seems to stop. The pop star is being accused of assaulting DJ Michael Woods' tour manager during a night out at a South Korean club this weekend. According to Woods, Bieber and his entourage approached the DJ booth and demanded to hear more hip-hop. As Woods claims via Twitter, "When I told @justinbieber to f-ck off and put some clothes on he took a cheap shot at my tour manager and fled behind a wall of security." The party's host, Ben Baller, has a different version of the story. While he admits that things got heated, he claims that no punches were thrown.

British actor Charlie Hunnam has dropped out of the film adaptation of E. L. James’s best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey because of a "scheduling conflict." (Translation: He was annoyed by the droves of women responding to the casting decision as if he were Danny DeVito.) Hunnam had been set to play the wealthy entrepreneur Christian Grey in September alongside Dakota Johnson, who is to play Anastasia Steele. A statement released by Universal Pictures insists that the Sons of Anarchy star's busy schedule would not allow him to "adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey." Sure...

She's already racked up several Grammy awards and even an Oscar. Now Adele has achieved yet another milestone: she passed her driving test. The 25-year-old singer revealed the news via Twitter on Friday. "I passed my driving test this morning!!!" she wrote. When she's not behind the wheel, Adele is busy recording her next album, which is mainly inspired by her 11-month-old son Angelo. One of her collaborators, One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder, told the Herald Sun earlier this month, "Adele sounds even better than before... I would press pause on my entire life if it meant I could go into the studio for a month straight with her."

An amazing comedy news, Step Brothers co-stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will be reuniting to star in a new comedy. Devil's Night will tell the story of Leonard and Gabe, two childhood friends who start a neighborhood tradition of wreaking havoc the night before Halloween and reunited fifteen years later to try to protect the 'hood from total wreckage. The film will be produced by Gary Sanchez Productions, Ferrell's production company with comedy director Adam McKay. Here's hoping a Step Brothers sequel will follow.

Running into Madonna at a movie theater might not be the thrilling experience you'd expect. Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, coming face-to-face with the talk show host for the first last night since lashing out at him on Twitter. Kanye did not apologize for getting upset over Kimmel spoofing the interview in which he called himself a "genius." Instead, he explained, "For me to say I wasn’t a genius I would just be lying to you and to myself." The unintentionally hilarious rapper went on to argue that his baby mama Kim Kardashian deserved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Miraculously, Kimmel made it through the interview without laughing hysterically. He even made nice with his ratings -- er, guest -- of the evening.

Looks like Owen Wilson is taking a page out of Simon Cowel's book. The Wedding Crashers star, 44, has reportedly impregnated a married woman. Her name is Caroline Lindqvist and she's Wilson's personal trainer. To be fair, however, the 41-year-old is currently in the process of divorcing her husband, a plastic surgeon. (No word on whether their split has to do with the fact that she's having somebody else's baby.) Wilson and Lindqvist are not together. But a source tells Us Weekly that he's made it clear that he'll be there for her when the baby comes. (How sweet.) Wilson is already a father to a 2-year-old boy with ex-girlfriend Jade Duell.

Rihanna loves her tattoos, and she showed off just how hardcore she is by getting a traditional Maori tattoo in New Zealand. The painful technique uses a mallet and chisel to apply the ink instead of a needle. Rihanna got her entire right hand and all of its fingers covered with intricate symbols. A YouTube video shows the R&B star taking the pain gamely and wisely choosing not to watch the process.

Bruce and Kris Jenner have separated after 22 years of marriage. The pair released a joint statement to E! News that reads: "We are living separately and we are much happier this way. But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority." Kris and Bruce are parents to two children together, Kendall and Kylie, and each have four kids from previous marriages.

Chris Brown is pissed off again. Gossip blogger Perez Hilton infuriated Brown by tweeting, "I hope @ChrisBrown doesn't watch! I'm talking about him on the @WendyWilliams show today and I'm going in!!!" The R&B singer fired back back a series of insulting tweets, stating, "Thanks for the publicity. Your insecurities are manifested by your hatred. Princess Perez and wicked witch Wendy. Flunkies! Can't take advice from 2 buff chicks when one can't stand to look at herself without plastic surgery and the other is forever on his period." Hilton then flippantly flung back at Brown, "That's Queen Perez! BowDown."

Taylor Lautner is set to step into Mark Wahlberg's shoes and take on the role of porn star Dirk Diggler in a Boogie Nights live-reading. The Twilight star will take on the character in Jason Reitman's production at The Film Independent event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Thursday. Will he measure up? At the very least, he's bound to be more believable in the role than The Social Network actor Jesse Eisenberg, who played played Diggler in Reitman's live-reading last month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

For the first time since their blowout Twitter war, Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West are going to meet and sit down face-to-face. The rapper will be a guest on tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kanye had lashed out at Kimmel after the latter spoofed his BBC Radio 1 interview, in which he declared himself the "biggest" rock star in the world. Choice tweets from Kim Kardashian's baby daddy included, "Should I do a spoof about your face or you f**king Ben Affleck?" and "Sarah Silverman is a thousand times funnier than you and the whole world knows it!" A bemused Kimmel Kimmel took it in stride, saying he'd always wanted to be in a rap feud.

The latest report in the Khloe Kardashian-Lamar Odom drama: TMZ reports that divorce is "inevitable," but that Khloe hasn't pulled the trigger because she's afraid it will push Lamar over the edge and cause him to overdose or commit suicide. The reality star is apparently putting all plans to file for separation on hold until she can help Lamar get through his substance abuse issues. That being said, Khloe is still wearing her wedding ring and recently tweeted, "Speculate all you want." Presumably, she was responding to the onslaught of stories about her troubled marriage.

Alicia Keys has unabashedly voiced her belief in extraterrestrials. In an interview with BuzzFeed, the 14-time Grammy winner says that the existence of aliens is obvious: "Haven’t all of us seen something flying in the sky, and it’s at some random time of night that doesn’t make sense, and it’s not the shape of a plane?" Keys also that she would go to space with an alien, but only if she got a good feeling from it: "I would have to feel the alien's vibe. It had to be the right vibe. If it was one of those crazy, nutso dudes my brother watches — he always wants me to watch these movies with him and I’m like, No! — I wouldn’t go with that one."

In a new interview with Sports Spectrum, Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson claims that A&E has edited the show unfairly, bleeping out words that were not curses and removing any mention of Jesus in family prayers: "They inserted fake bleeps, like someone had used profanity, but no one had used profanity. The other thing was when we prayed we said, 'In Jesus' name, amen.' They would just have me say, 'And thank you Lord for the food, thank you for loving us, amen.'" According to Robertson, it was because the network didn't want to "offend some of the Muslims, or something." A&E has no comment on Robertson's claims.

During an interview with Chicago's 103.5 KISS FM, Britney Spears was asked about reports that she plans to lip-sync during her Las Vegas concerts. The pop star refuted the rumors and then denied lip-syncing altogether, saying, "I'm definitely going to be singing live. I always sing live. It doesn't sound so great all the time, but I do my best." Spears' manager Larry Rudolph has also responded to the rumors, stating that she will sing live and has been seeing a vocal coach every day.

In a new interview with UK's Team Rock Radio, Gene Simmons takes shots at Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. The KISS frontman lists musicians he considers "legends" -- Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix -- and then claims that since the '80s, there hasn't been "one superstar that's bigger than their music, and not just somebody that's recorded one or two records." He goes on to say, "Kurt Cobain -- no, that's one or two records. That's not enough. Amy Winehouse -- that's one or two records. That's not enough. What, just 'cause you died, that makes you an icon? No, no."

Madonna tells Harper’s Bazaar she was attacked when she moved to New York in 1977. “New York wasn’t everything I thought it would be. It did not welcome me with open arms. The first year, I was held up at gunpoint. Raped on the roof of a building I was dragged up to with a knife in my back, and had my apartment broken into three times. I don’t know why; I had nothing of value after they took my radio the first time. I was poised for survival. I felt alive. But I was also scared s— … I was defiant. Hell-bent on surviving. On making it. But it was hard and it was lonely, and I had to dare myself every day to keep going.”

Mindy's Mouth
Sinead O'Connor wrote this letter to Miley Cyrus. It reads: "I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way 'cool' to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether it's the music business or yourself doing the pimping. Nothing but harm will come in the long run, from allowing yourself to be exploited, and it is absolutely NOT in ANY way an empowerment of yourself or any other young women, for you to send across the message that you are to be valued (even by you) more for your sexual appeal than your obvious talent.

I am happy to hear I am somewhat of a role model for you and I hope that because of that you will pay close attention to what I am telling you. The music business doesn’t give a s**t about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it's what YOU wanted... and when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, 'they' will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone...

You ought be protected as a precious young lady by anyone in your employ and anyone around you, including you. This is a dangerous world. We don’t encourage our daughters to walk around naked in it because it makes them pray for animals and less than animals... You are worth more than your body or your sexual appeal. You also said in Rolling Stone that your look (in the video) is based on mine. The look I chose, I chose on purpose at a time when my record company were encouraging me to do what you have done. I felt I would rather be judged on my talent and not my looks. I am happy that I made that choice, not least because I do not find myself on the proverbial rag heap now that I am almost 47 yrs (years) of age... which unfortunately many female artists who have based their image around their sexuality, end up on when they reach middle age.

Real empowerment of yourself as a woman would be to, in future, refuse to exploit your body or your sexuality in order for men to make money from you... It's really not at all cool. And its sending dangerous signals to other young women. Please in future say no when you are asked to prostitute yourself. Your body is for you and your boyfriend. It isn’t for every spunk-spewing dirtbag on the net, or every greedy record company executive to buy his mistresses diamonds with."

** UPDATE **

On Thursday, Miley responded: ''Before Amanda Bynes.... There was.... '' and ''Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week.''

Sinead responded: Miley… Really? Who the f—k is advising you? Because taking me on is even more f—kin’ stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism. You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help.

I mean really really… who advises you? have you any idea how stupid and dangerous it is to mock people for suffering illness? You will yourself one day suffer such illness, that is without doubt. The course you have set yourself upon can only end in that, trust me.

I am staggered that any 20 yr old woman of the 21st century could behave in such a dangerous and irresponsible manner as to not only send the signal to young women that its ok to act like prostitutes but also to the signal that those who have suffered or do suffer mental health problems are to be mocked and have their opinions invalidated. Have you no sense of danger at all? or responsibility? Remove your tweets immediately or you will hear from my lawyers. I am certain you will be hearing from all manner of mental health advocacy groups also. It is not acceptable to mock any person for having suffered.

It is most unbecoming of you to respond in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you. And worse that you are such an anti-female tool of the anti-female music industry. I hope that you will apologize to Amanda Bynes and to any person who has been wounded by your mockery of those who have suffered. And I hope that you will wake up and understand that you in fact are a danger to women.

Furthermore you posted a photo of me tearing the pope’s photo .. as if to imply insanity.. by doing so all you have achieved is to expose your staggering ignorance. I suggest you read The Philadelphia Report, The Boston Report, all the reports which will illuminate for you why that action of mine remains sane and valid. By mocking it you mock every child who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of priests and had it covered by the Vatican. You could really do with educating yourself, that is if you’re not too busy getting your t–s out to read.

Amanda Bynes' mother has broken her silence. Lynn Bynes, who has been granted temporary conservatorship of her troubled daughter, told People on Wednesday, "Both my husband and I love Amanda very much and we know that she will get through this situation." She also made it a point to let everyone know that unless any information about the 27-year-old actress comes from her directly, it shouldn't be taken seriously. "Please know that neither myself or other family members have ever released any information regarding her treatment or diagnosis," she said. "We truly believe in keeping our daughter's situation private for now."

Ever wonder what happened to rom-com queen Meg Ryan? According to the latest issue of People, the When Harry Met Sally star, 51, decided to ditch Hollywood and make her home in New York, where she can avoid the spotlight and focus on her family -- 8-year-old daughter Daisy and rocker boyfriend John Mellencamp. "Los Angeles is just about movies. New York is about so much more than that, and so is Meg," said writer Delia Ephron (sister to Nora Ephron, who wrote many of Ryan's movies). Back in 2008, Ryan told InStyle magazine that losing her status as "America's Sweetheart" was "incredibly liberating."

Mia Farrow dropped a bombshell on Hollywood by stating that her 25-year-old son Ronan might not be the son of her ex Woody Allen. When Vanity Fair asked the Rosemary's Baby actress if her late ex-husband Frank Sinatra could be Ronan's father, she replied, "Possibly." Ronan was born in 1987, and Farrow and Sinatra divorced in 1968, but Farrow says they continued their relationship, stating, "We never really split up." Ronan dealt with the news admirably, posting a hilarious tweet reading, "Listen, we're all 'possibly' Frank Sinatra's son."

Khloe Kardashian and her house could both be on the market soon. Hollywoodlife.com is reporting that the reality star wants to sell the 8,347-square-foot Tarzana home that she has lived in with Lamar Odom for almost four years. A source claims that Lamar is unhappy about it, telling the website, "He’s hurt that she’s trying to force him out by trying to scare him, and trying to sell their house." On Tuesday, Lamar was photographed outside the couple's home. But a reconciliation seems unlikely, given that Khloe soon after took to Instagram to post a photo of crashing waves and the caption, "I want a love so deep the ocean would be jealous."

If you're sick of Miley Cyrus now, you're in for a real disappointment this Halloween. There are even how-to sites that show you how to make your own Miley costume, complete with red lipstick, ponytail buns and platform All Star Converse. Looks like it's going to be a scary Halloween.

Nobody's safe in Springfield on this season of The Simpsons. The iconic cartoon's executive producer Al Jean revealed that one character will be killed off this season, and he's keeping the unlucky one's identity a secret. Jean gives only one clue: "The actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character." Given that The Simpsons has won 28 Emmys, that clue isn't much help. However, award-winning candidates include Sideshow Bob, Moe Szyslak, Barney Gumble, and Krusty the Clown.
Barbara Walters has apologized to Katy Perry for scolding her in 2011 for being late to an interview. Katy told Billboard, "When I got there, I apologized immediately, but then she said to me, 'You know, I've only ever waited for one other person this long, and you know who that person was? Judy Garland. You know how she turned out, right?' I was like, 'Oh, snap! Yes, b**ch!' I think it's the coolest thing that Barbara Walters shaded (trashed) me." Walters said, "Katy, if I made you feel at all unhappy, during a time when you were obviously unhappy, and I didn't know, I'm sorry, but you can't always know!"
