In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Jack White is opening up about his not-so-existent relationship with ex-wife and former White Stripes band mate Meg White. "She's one of those people who won't high-five me when I get the touchdown," White says about Meg, whom he hasn’t kept in touch with since the Stripes split in 2011. Regardless of their rocky relationship, White praises Meg for her abilities on stage. “She was the antithesis of a modern drummer. So childlike and incredible and inspiring,” White continues. “Nothing I do will top that."
The story of Whitney Houston is about to get the Lifetime treatment. According to reports by Us Weekly, the Lifetime network announced Thursday that they will be making a movie about the late pop singer, scheduled to premiere in 2015. Being directed by Angela Bassett, who costarred with Houston in the 1995’s Waiting to Exhale, the film will chronicle the tumultuous relationship between Houston and her singer-songwriter husband Bobby Brown. While Bassett will not star in the title role, she may have another role in the film.
Actor Michael Jace, best known for his role as a police officer in the TV series The Shield, was charged with murder Thursday. Jace, 51, is accused of shooting his wife multiple times in their Los Angeles home Monday. The couple's two young sons were at home at the time of the shooting, authorities say, but were not harmed. Jace faces 50 years to life in prison if convicted.
Ed Sheeran's newest music video dropped Thursday, and it features a puppet version of the pop star running amok in a stretch Hummer. The video for "Sing" also features the real Sheeran, as well as Pharrell, but the best hijinks are left for the Muppet-like creation, which also hits the bottle pretty hard and isn't above consorting with a few strippers. It doesn't necessarily fit with the image Sheeran has made for himself, but then again, there's no saying what a man does once he becomes a puppet.
Viewers are getting a sneak peak at the kind of public humiliation Don Rickles is in for, when a celebrity roast of the legendary comic airs later this month. In a clip released by Spike TV, Tina Fey mistakes Rickles for a leather purse and Martin Scorsese accuses Rickles of ruining his working relationship with Robert DiNero. Rickles, 88, is himself known as the king of the insult, so the roast will be a bit of karma coming back for him. One Night Only: An All-Star Comedy Tribute to Don Rickles will air May 28 at 9 p.m. ET on Spike. The special will also feature appearances by Jon Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman and many others.
