Troubled actress Amanda Bynes has lost her latest bid for freedom yesterday when a judge shut down her lawyer's request to release the star from a mental hospital. At the hearing, her representative told the judge that Bynes was perfectly capable of looking after herself and she was not a danger to others. However, doctors insisted that while the medication she's been given is working, there is no guarantee she will continue taking them if she leaves since she still insists that nothing wrong is with her. The judge agreed with the doctors. TMZ reports that the signs indicate that Bynes has schizophrenia.
Keith Urban has survived the massive purge and will be back as a judge on American Idol. FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly confirmed the country stud's return on Thursday. "The fans really like him," Reilly said, adding that Urban is a "really funny guy" and "didn't get to really let his personality show" the first time around. (Probably because he was too busy keeping Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj from killing each other.) Reilly also confirmed that Idol is in "discussions" with Jennifer Lopez about coming back. He says they want good judges that provide a "comfortable viewing experience" and bring the focus back to the contestants.
