Miley Cyrus herself has spoken out about her controversial VMAs performance. On Monday afternoon, she tweeted, "Smilers! My VMA performance had 306.000 tweets per minute. That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact." If you're wondering what Miley's dad Billy Ray Cyrus thought about his daughter stripping down to her underwear and twerking against Robin Thicke's crotch, he took to his Twitter account after the awards show and wrote, "Thanking God for so many blessings tonight. Continue to pray for world peace. More love ...less hate."
The members of 'N Sync not named Justin Timberlake were upset over how short their reunion performance was during Sunday night's VMAs. Originally, they were going to sing more of their hits, but Justin cut the reunion short so that his extended set wouldn't appear to be all about 'N Sync. Justin's former bandmates were initially unhappy, but have plenty of reason to now be over it. For one thing, sales of their song "Bye Bye Bye" jumped 156 percent in the aftermath of their appearance. Also, the 'N Sync reunion helped boost ratings for the VMA's 66 percent over last year.
Eminem's new single has dropped. "Berzerk," the Rick Rubin-produced track, has the rapper declaring himself ready to "start it from scratch," and boasting that "just like my addiction I'm about to kick it." What is likely to draw a lot of attention is the third verse, in which he suggests he hooked up with Khloe Kardashian. The verse goes, "They say that love is powerful as cough syrup and Styrofoam / All I know is I fell asleep and woke up in that Monte Carlo / With the ugly Kardashian/ Lamar, oh sorry we done both set the bar low."
Kate Gosselin has sued ex-husband Jon Gosselin, accusing him of stealing her hard drive and hacking into her phone and computer to gain damaging material for a tell-all book. Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, written by Jon's friend Robert Hoffman, was published in 2012 but pulled a few days later. According to the suit, this was because information within it was illegally obtained. Kate's lawyer says that Jon violated Federal anti-hacking laws to "publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information" that "damaged her reputation."
