Store By Store Return Policies

Before you stand in a long in-store line, we compiled a list of return policies for major stores. Here are the return policies at some of your favorite stores:

Amazon.com
Items shipped by Amazon.com between November 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012, may be returned until January 31, 2013, for a full refund, subject to Amazon’s other return guidelines, which are listed on the Website.

Best Buy
Gift purchases made between November 4, 2012, and December 24, 2012, can be returned through January 24, 2013.

Kohl’s
Kohl’s has a hassle-free return policy, which allows customers to return any item at any time. Customers with a receipt are offered full refund and exchanges. Customers with a gift receipt are offered an even exchange or merchandise credit. Customers without a receipt will get a merchandise credit good toward anything in the store. Or, if a customer paid with a Kohl’s Charge or other credit card, Kohl’s can look up the purchase and give a refund or even exchange.

Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club will refund purchases in full with a receipt. Customers without a receipt will be refunded the latest selling price of an item on a shopping card. Electronics such as Televisions, computers, projectors, digital music players, cameras and camcorders must be returned within 90 days of the original purchase and with a receipt. Cell phones must be returned within 30 days of the original purchase and with a receipt.

Target
Target requires a receipt for all returns and exchanges and most returns must be made within 90 days. Any exceptions are clearly noted on store shelves and printed on the front of receipts. Target also has a receipt look up for items purchased using a credit, debit, check or GiftCard. Items from the Neiman Marcus and Target collaboration must be returned by Jan. 5, 2013.

Walmart
For items that typically have limited returns or exchanges, such as TVs, cameras, computers, DVD and music players, if purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, the limited 15-30 day return period will begin Dec. 26. For most items, Walmart accept returns within 90 days after purchase. Walmart gives customers the option of a cash refund (if the purchase was under $25), a shopping card for the amount of the purchase (if it was over $25), a credit to the customer’s credit card (only with receipt) or an even exchange for the product. Walmart will follow any manufacturer’s warranties.

Here are some tips from “Good Morning America” on making returns:

1. Expect a 15-day return window on electronics from the time of purchase, so if you want to return something, get back to the store as soon as possible.
A notable exception is Walmart, which adjusted its return policy temporarily for the holiday season: “For these items purchased between Nov. 1 and Dec. 24, the limited return period will begin Dec. 26. This includes items such as TVs, cameras, computers, DVD and music players that can have a 15-30 day return period.”

2. While time is of the essence, returning a gift the day after Christmas insures a long wait at the store’s customer service desk. Staggering that return could be the best course of action, but since Dec. 26 falls on a weekday this year, many people will be working. Your best bet might be to wait until Thursday or Friday this week.

3. It’s highly likely store clerks will ask to see your identification when you make returns. Don’t be offended. For many stores it’s become their new policy to try and prevent fraud and the return of stolen merchandise using counterfeit or forged receipts.

A Few Skin Secrets
Never Skip the Sunscreen
Yes, even though it is winter and you aren't out in the sun as often, you still need to wear sunscreen to block the UV rays coming from the sun that can damage skin. Studies show that people actually obtain most of their UV rays while driving in their car, so make sure you apply before you leave home!

Shave Your Legs at the End of Your Shower
Shaving at the end will help reduce nicks and cuts while shaving your legs because the steam from the shower helps to loosen up the hair follicles, making it easier to shave.

Scrubs Work Wonders for Dry Skin
With winter in full swing, dry skin is inevitable. Invest in a good gentle body scrub along with a hand mitt to help exfoliate your skin and make sure you apply a good moisturizer when your done!

A Few Make-Up Tips

Skip the Foundation
Especially if you have acne prone skin, using a heavy, liquid foundation can make you look very unnatural. If you need to, apply your concealer first, then use a light powder foundation or a tinted moisturizer to even out the rest of your skin tone. Using too much foundation can make you look older than you really are, so avoid that at all costs.

Pat in Concealer, Never Rub it in

When applying concealer make sure you don't apply it directly to your face, bacteria can get onto your brush and contaminate the rest of your make-up, put it on your finger and pat it on your skin, you never want to rub it in. And make sure that you get a shade that is closest to your skin color as possibly. You don't want it to be noticeable that your wearing any.

Make the Focus Your Eyes OR Your Lips, Never Both
Pick one of your features that you want to be the focal point for the day, you can switch this up day by day, but you never want to combine them. Play up that feature, you don't want to look like you just walked out of the circus when you walk into the room. And even with picking one feature, make sure you don't go overboard, the natural look is in.

And Most Importantly...
Less is More
The natural look is definitely in now. Wearing too much make-up can make you look like a clown, or like your older than you really are!

7 Health Benefits of Being Organized

Reduced Financial Stress
If you misplace your bills, or have to pay late fees, it puts a strain on you not only mentally but financially. Make yourself a little rack or something that you can set all of your bills in and designate a specific day of the week for you to pay all of your bills at once.

Minimized Personal Conflicts
Arguments between couples can be caused by anything from a lost item, forgotten errands, or clutter. Make sure that you keep things in your life organized because it will not only benefit you, but it will benefit the relationship you have with your partner.

Increased "Me" Time
If you don't think you can cram anything else into your busy schedule, get yourself organized. You may find out that you have time to add an enjoyable activity into your life if you just get yourself organized and get things straightened out. The more "me" time you have, the more energized and happy you'll be, and so will the others around you.

Fewer Missed Medications
With the growing technology around us, there are apps on your phone now that will remind you when it's time for you to take a medication. Take full advantage of that, the more you are organized with things like that, the better organized you will be with everything else because you will have fewer worries to deal with.

More Time for Exercise
If your the kind of person that uses that treadmill in the corner as more of a clothes rack or your exercise equipment isn't easy to access, then you are less likely to use it. In the morning before work, or before you go to bed, pack a gym bag so you have no excuses no to go and work out after school or class.

Better diet
Plan your meals ahead of time so that you can make sure you have everything that you need for that night to prepare dinner. The more unorganized you are, the more likely you are to run through the drive-thru or to eat out and that just adds on the calories for the day.

A Healthier Home

Clutter in your house can make it harder to clean, therefore contributing to the amount of dust you have in your home. The more dust the more likely you are to become sick and removing the clutter from your house will eliminate 40% of the housework you have to do.

5 Tips to Reduce Holiday Stress
Prioritize Appropriately:
We are more likely this time of year to say "yes" to doing an activity or volunteering for something than we normally are. Before offering yourself up, evaluate the task. Make sure its something that you have time to do, and most importantly, it's something that you enjoy doing.

Avoid the Crowds:
Take advantage of online shopping this time of year! The hassle of big crowds, traffic, and running around store to store can put unnecessary stress on yourself. And don't forget all of the awesome sales that you can find for online shopping!! If you have to go shopping, do it doing off-hours, like during work-hours or early in the morning.

Have a Relaxation Ritual:
At least once a week, make sure that you take an hour just to do something for yourself. It can be anything that you like to do, as long as you set aside time and it allows you to unwind a little.

Have Some Fun:
Do anything that you can have fun doing. Whether it be outside or just curling up on the couch with a good book or a funny movie.

Keep Up with a Healthy Regimen:
Make sure you get at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep at night, if that means sleeping in a little extra on the weekends, do so. Your body needs the extra energy this time of year with all of the extra running around that you'll be doing. And even with all the yummy holiday food this time of year, make sure you still fit in some fruits and veggies so that your body can receive all the vitamins that you need to stay energized.
