MIRACLE PRODUCT: COCONUT OIL!!!
I have always been looking for that ONE product that would help me with my acne prone skin and scars, and I have finally found the holy grail! I spent so much time, money and effort on high-end (and costly) moisturizers that don't ever seem to help with my combination skin, but one day, I happened to come across a YouTube video on coconut oil and how amazing it was because of it's anti-bacterial properties (which is amazing for acne-prone skin) as well as it's intense hydration capabilities. I decided to give it a try, and it has completely saved my skin! My acne has reduced in size and amount, the dun spots and scarring have all but disappeared, and and my skin is so supple, bright and moisturized! Not only do I use it as a facial moisturizer, but coconut oil is AMAZING for other purposes too! Below I've listed what type of coconut oil to purchase as well as what I use it for. I hope you'll give it a try and that you'll love it as much as I do!

When purchasing coconut oil, you want to get the highest quality you can afford. This is going on your body and into your food so of course, you should want the most unprocessed version. Make sure that you purchase coconut oil that is:

- Extra Virgin
-Organic
-Cold-pressed
-Unrefined
-Unbleached
-Raw

Now, you don't have to hit ALL these items, but a good way to know you've got organic or basically high-quality coconut oil is that it's gonna smell amazingly like fresh coconuts ;) You can find coconut oil available at nearly all grocery stores- I get mine at Kroger from Simple Truth Organic. It retails for $8.99, and doesn't normally go on sale but at that price, it's still a really great bargain!

1.FACIAL/BODY MOISTURIZER-  Because coconut is anti-bacterial, it's great for acne-prone skin because it won't irritate or clog your skin; In fact, it helps to push all the bad bacteria out and keep your skin clean! Also,  don't be alarmed when you open your bottle and it's a solid product- That's the way it comes! Kinda looks like Crisco, but I assure you it's not, haha. I take just about a pea-sized amount onto my fingertips and rub it into my face and neck- It will melt and absorb right into the skin! I suggest to let it soak in for about 1-3 minutes before staring any other skin-care routine or applying makeup for best results. Your skin will be super hydrated and brighter instantly! Same process for a body moisturizer- Take a quarter sized amount and rub it into your legs, arms, stomach, chest, anywhere! Makes your skin supple and silky smooth and be sure to let it soak in for 1-3 minutes as well :)

2. BATHS- I love taking baths, and I try and take one every night! One of the most pampering ways to make your bath luxurious is to take a tablespoon of your coconut oil and toss it into your bathtub as it fills up. The hot water will melt the oil and make your bath water slightly "creamy". Just lay back, and let the oil do it's thing. You'll come out of the tub with the softest most baby-like skin you haven't had since you were, well, a baby!

3. COOKING- I have to admit, I haven't used this as much since I'm never home to cook, but I have used coconut oil and sweetener in my coffee and it's so delicious! It's also dairy-free which is great for me since I try and avoid dairy. You can also swap it out for traditional oils like virgin or canola oil. Use this instead as a substitute for any recipe that involves oil and it helps to boost metabolism and is a much healthier alternative. Plus, it's just really tasty :)

4. HAIR MASK- put on old clothes. Coconut oil can get a little drippy, so put on an old t-shirt or drape a towel around your shoulders to prevent it from getting on your nice clothes. It's best to start the conditioning treatment in your bathroom, but you'll be able to move around while you let it soak into your hair for a few hours. I like to sleep in it over night. While you are in the shower, just replace the coconut oil for conditioner. Take about 3-4 tablespoon of it and massage it into your hair. After you've applied, throw your hair in a bun and then put a shower cap on so you don't transfer anything on your pillow. In the morning, take off the cap, wash your hair like normal (skipping conditioner) and the dry. You'll be amazed at how shiny, frizz-free and smooth your hair will be!!

I hope you all give it a try and I hope it works as well for you as it does for me!
