Best Days To Do Things from the Consumer mag Which?
BUY A CAMERA – Monday:
Recent sales figures reveal that Monday is when there are the most sales of cameras online. They are already one of the cheaper electronic devices you can buy so many stores discount them even more to drive customers to their site after the weekend.
EATING OUT – Tuesday:
Most restaurants do not get deliveries over the weekend. By Tuesday, everything is fresh again. Chef Anthony Bourdain says: “At anything less than a really good restaurant, Monday’s probably not your best day to eat fish.”
HAVE A BARBECUE – Tuesday:
This is the driest day of the week. The Met Office say overcast conditions appear more frequently on a Friday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday.
ASK FOR A PAY RISE – Wednesday:
Seven out of ten managers said that Wednesday was the best day to be asked for a pay rise when polled by recruitment company Office Angels.
GO SHOPPING – Wednesday:
This is the least crowded day of the week in supermarkets. For even more quiet, only four per cent of shoppers head out between 9pm and 8am.
HAVE SEX – Thursday:
You should choose the morning too, according to researchers at the London School Of Economics. Their study revealed that natural cortisol levels, which stimulate sex hormones, are at their highest on this day.
SELL YOUR HOME – Friday:
Sellers who list a home on a Friday will have a greater chance of success, according to American estate agent Redfin. They analysed 1.2million listings in 16 markets over 21 months to determine their findings.
GET MARRIED – Friday:
Traditionally weddings fall on a Saturday, but having your do one day earlier can knock down the price of the reception and ceremony by half.
END AN E-BAY AUCTION – Sunday:
Online sellers generally have the best results when their deadline falls on the traditional day of rest.
