Restrictions on passengers whose trips originated in Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea were announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and due to go into effect on Wednesday. Three Denver girls reportedly en route to Turkey detained, sent home

Voice of America reported this week that one of the girls told German authorities they were on their way to Turkey, which has been considered a principal transit route for foreigners looking to fight with Islamist militants in Syria. U.S. officials declined to say if they suspected a link between the girls and militants in the region. ...

Former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee dies at 93

Bradlee's death at his Washington home of natural causes was announced by the Post, which reported late last month that its former editor had begun hospice care after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for the past several years. ...
