If a new wardrobe gets you more excited that fireworks, now’s the time to shop:Gap is offering up to 40% off men’s and women’s clothes, as are Nautica (if you buy four items or more) and Cabela’s. And Jones New York is offering discounts of up to 75% off on its women’s clothes and accessories; Lord & Taylor is serving up discounts of 20%.
Outdoor Gear
For those of you who hope to take a backpacking, fishing or hiking trip this summer, consider that Backcountry.com is offering up to 40% off its clothing and outdoor gear, and Bass Pro Shops are offering some bargain basement discounts as well on a variety of gear.
Furniture and Mattresses
If you’ve been having some trouble getting enough shut-eye recently – or even just kicking your feet up comfortably -- Macy’s is offering a bunch of deals on furniture and mattresses on the 4th. Sears is offering 50 - 60% off mattresses and discounts on other home goods like patio furniture.
Travel
Have you taken a (much needed, we’re sure!) vacation recently? If not, consider that Hotels.com is offering up to 30% off many hotels around the county.
Home Improvement
We know that making home improvements probably isn’t top of your list on your day off, but with these deals, you might reconsider: Lowe's is offering 10% off major appliances priced $397 and higher, as well as 15% discounts on all Energy Star products. Home Depot has an interesting deal going on for the holiday as well: Buy two appliances and save $50; buy three appliances and save $100 (this discount scale continues up to six appliances, for which you can save a maximum of $450).

E.L. James earns 7% royalty on every $14 paperback and 25% royalty on every $10 ebook sold.
Last month 4 million paperbacks and 1 million ebooks were sold.
E.L James earns $191K a day, give or take.
In March Universal/Focus features paid $5 million for the rights to the 50 Shades movies.
Fictional sadist and Seattle's most growly businessman Christian Grey earns $100,000 an hour.
